Between Two Creeks
Hidden Green Spaces Along Memorial Drive
This free, educational walking tour honoring the legacy of journalist and urban design activist Jane Jacobs took place on May 4, 2025, in partnership with the Museum of Design Atlanta.
Located in and around the historic Atlanta neighborhoods of Edgewood and Kirkwood, the conversation and sites laced together themes of environmental stewardship, transportation, housing and neighborhood partnerships. Led by Joey Goodall, civil engineer and author, the tour passed through Unearthing Farm and Market, by Sugar Creek, wound through neighborhood streets to the Kirkwood Urban Forest Preserve, and over Hardee Creek near the busy Memorial Drive corridor.
Please enjoy the list of additional resources below that inspired and informed the walking route and discussion.
